Karen Copp is the Communication/Change Manager for the electronic health record project at Hennepin County Medical Center. Prior to this she served as Organizational Development Specialist in the Education Department for five years and was responsible for facilitating teams, groups, and projects whose scopes include single department process improvement to organization wide process design. She has also facilitated department or program level Hoshin planning. She has spent almost thirty years in health care, working as a financial analyst, quality improvement specialist, and facilitator. She has assisted Hennepin County District Court in its internal Baldrige assessment and journey. She has been a Baldrige National Quality Award Examiner for 6 years (4 years as Senior). She was part of a Minnesota-Colorado evaluator team for a multi-state company and has evaluated a health care applicant in Minnesota. Karen has a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Music from Carnegie Mellon University, and a Masters in Management from St. Mary's University of Minnesota. She is a lifetime Girl Scout having served in multiple roles as an adult (e.g., leader, trainer, service unit manager, and rregistrar).
