| Dr.
Peter W. Carryer is Chair of Mayo Health System Board and Mayo Health
System Operations. Also serving as a consultant in the Department
of Internal Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology, and as an assistant
professor of medicine at Mayo
Medical
School
, Dr. Carryer joined the Mayo
Clinic staff in 1980.
He
holds both a master’s degree in business administration and a medical
degree – providing him with a unique perspective on Mayo Health
System operations and the value of Mayo Health System to the numerous
communities served.
Born
in Rochester ,
Dr. Carryer received his master’s degree in business at Washington
University
in St.
Louis and his medical degree
from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He completed
both his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in gastroenterology
at Mayo Clinic. Dr. Carryer has authored several articles, served
on numerous committees at Mayo Clinic, and has been very instrumental
in bringing quality healthcare to residents of the many communities
served by Mayo Health System.
